WALKING THE HEALTH PATH TOGETHER
Imagine a church where everyone is on the Health Path, where each person is taking positive steps for their health and receiving support from their fellow church members. A place where visitors want to be part of this healthy family. And a church where young people remain connected and involved as they experience love and encouragement. This is the picture of what Health Ministries is all about.

Here are some goals you might like to choose from for a NEW START in your health path. No step is too small. May Jesus bless you as you take steps to grow stronger in health this year.

WATER
Add 1 glass of water a day to your daily routine.
Begin each day with a tall glass of water.
Drink a glass of water when you feel hungry between meals.

EXERCISE
Take a 10 minute walk after a meal.
Limit sitting time to less than 30 minutes.
Park your car further away from the store entrance.
Try to get 20-30 minutes of exercise daily.

SUNLIGHT
Be out in the sun for 15 minutes during a lunch break.
Have your Vitamin D checked.
Get your sunlight in small doses. Avoid the burn.

NUTRITION
Use a smaller plate with no refills.
Eat a good breakfast that includes whole grains.
Replace a meat meal weekly.
Choose water for a beverage--more than other drinks.
Make your supper the lightest meal of the day.
Choose fruit desserts over desserts with high fat and/or sugar.
Eat more whole grain cooked cereals.
Try sauteeing foods in vegetable broth rather than in oil.
Allow 4-5 hours before your next meal.

REST
Stop working or watching TV an hour before bedtime.
Have your last meal at least 4-5 hours before bedtime.
Take mini vacations during the day: 5-10 minute breaks.

FRESH AIR
Open the windows in your home to let the fresh air in.
Add some indoor plants to your home and/or office decor.
Practice deep breathing, especially when feeling stressed.

TEMPERANCE
Ask for help to bring habits into balance.
Get help to stop smoking, drinking alcohol, using caffeine.
Reduce caffinated drinks or avoid them altogether.
Practice simplicity in eating, entertainment and your spiritual life.

TRUST IN GOD
Praise God every day for the blessings you know you have.
Begin your day by reading from God's Word.
Memorize Bible promises that will help you with your stress.
Choose to talk faith instead of complaining.
Pray whenever you feel worried.
