When you're trying to lose some weight, one tip you frequently hear is to eat smaller meals more frequently. A British study found that overweight women given 2 or 5 meals each day burned the same amount of calories.
However, the women who ate 5 small meals accumulated significantly higher levels of endotoxins (gut bacteria fragments). These endotoxins cause inflammation and raise the risk of Type 2 Diabetes as well as heart disease.
POWER TIP: Stick to eating 2-3 meals a day when you're trying to lose weight. Choose to eat foods high in fiber. It really works!
