NATURE AT OUR DOORSTEP

Have you ever found a surprise sitting on your doorstep? Hannah Perez and her son Nathan have found one at Applewood Estates. Applewood Estate was the family farm of Charles Stewart Mott. Built in 1916, it sits on 34 acres next door to Mott Community College. This year Applewood Estate is celebrating its 100th birthday with regular visiting hours. There are many trails that you can walk as you enjoy the extensive gardens, an apple orchard with 29 heirloom varieties, barn, and chicken coop and much more.
There is also no charge to enjoy a walk with family or friends.

You can walk through paths that lead   to beautiful gardens. This is the rose garden at Applewood Estate. This garden also showcased many beautiful hibiscus flowers which were in full bloom. If you love gardens and flowers, Applewood will be a great place to walk with your family or friends.

Lu Lane also enjoyed the walk at Applewood along with Carol Warle. It is a spot they have come to many times but it is always changing. So it always deserves a repeat visit. Applewood is located at 1400 E. Kearsley near the cultural center downtown. Happy walking!
